Reframing Heritage Through Spatial Storytelling

Located within Al Baleed Archaeological Park, the Museum of the Frankincense Land presents Oman’s archaeological, maritime, and trade heritage through immersive exhibition halls that highlight the nation’s historical role in the global frankincense trade. The museum brings together artefacts, maritime models, manuscripts, and archaeological findings from across Dhofar into a layered interpretive environment. The project focused on the redevelopment
of the History Hall and Maritime Hall, reshaping the narrative structure and redefining how content is experienced across the spatial journey. Research, curation, and organisation
of extensive historical materials were translated into a coherent visual storytelling system
that guided the overall exhibition flow.
