EXPO 2025 OSAKA:
QATAR Pavilion CONCERTINA COFFEE TABLE BOOK Design

Unfolding Cultural Exchange Through Immersive Editorial Storytelling

Created for the Qatar Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, this concertina-style coffee table book transformed the pavilion narrative into a continuous unfolding journey inspired by the

visual rhythm and storytelling language of Japanese manga and anime culture. Developed in collaboration with artists from Qatar and Japan, the publication celebrated the creative dialogue between both nations through an immersive dual-sided editorial experience.

The unfolding concertina format echoed the experience of moving through the pavilion

itself — revealing layers of heritage, culture, architecture, and future vision with every expansion. One side presented an expressive illustrated narrative inspired by

manga-style visual storytelling, while the reverse captured the pavilion through

curated photography and key cultural moments. Designed as both a collectible object

and storytelling medium, the book extended the pavilion experience beyond

the Expo through movement, discovery, and emotional connection.
